RGB .. oops RDB

One can definitely tag RDB as better out of the recent lot of movies.
It does make an impact with its portrayal of the "bindhaas college life" that swings into the patriotic era and back. A few notable points were:

++ The apt choice of characters for their roles as patriotic heroes. esp. the one of Bhagat Singh. The actor has a peculiar look in his eyes "that of stubornness which has sprung due to lonliness and lack of love/care". This one goes on to be the perfect Bhagat Singh: resolute and avenging.


++ The light "college katta" jokes and pranks that seem very natural and refreshing. Also, one can note the basic gender difference, wherein DJ and his guy friends are always shown to be flippant and never serious in contrast to Sue and Soha-Ali-Khan who are pretty focused and serious.


++ Aamir Khan who is said to be a very devoted actor proves it again by picking up the Punjabi accent and style with little effort.


++ The ease with which the carefree colorful present morphs to the serious black-and-white patriotic past is notable. It makes the emotions of the viewer swing with it too.


++ The second half of course is a bit extreme and maybe irrational. But silently I could not help thinking whether some sort of such desperate and drastic killings of the sick politicians might really be needed to get rid of the filth. But again, the question of "Who will bell the cat?" arises in this context.


The last point apart, the movie does makes a mark with its youthful vibrant colors and good music too.
